Braveheart of Times Past
Braveheart of Timespast - our new Justin Morgan look-alike from Timespast Morgans of West Virginia. Braveheart has a multitude of crosses to the wonderful and genetically-rich Morgan, Ashbrook. He has Jubilee King in abundant supply also, to complement the old Lippitt lines.
Braveheart is a sweetheart, kind and gentle. He is waiting for our wet Oregon winter to pass so he can again be a driving and saddle horse. Until then he lives next to our mare band and is quiet and calm as he gets to know them. In 2008 he has mares coming to his court. These are also of only pure lines, but from differing Morgan families.
As with all our Morgans, Braveheart has been carefully researched for a pedigree including only original Morgan dispositions, and correct Morgan type and soundness. We have no place here for sullen behavior, sour dispositions, non-Morgan conformation, nor any hereditary health problems stemming from non-Morgan outcrosses. As an individual, Braveheart has passed with high grades. The final test will come with the production and using of his offspring.
Our first Braveheart foal is on the ground. She is a total outcross and shows lots of hybrid vigor. Dawn Wind's Berry Brave is gentle, huge and sturdy. She has a good mind, plus is very nimble. She looks so much like Brave's family and has his personality. This spring, 2009, we await Brave's second Oregon foal, this time from Farceur's Valentine. This foal will combine Ashbrook from both parents, plus a high percentage of Winterset, both valuable old-world Morgan sires. This foal is already spoken for, but there will be more in the years to come.

topBlackhat's Royal Prince
Blackhat's Royal Prince has recently come to Dawn Wind Morgans. He looks very tall and stately, yet only stands 15.1 hands. If one were speaking of Old-World Morgans, his name would come up quickly. He has a dignity about him, and a quiet-kindness so typical of the Morgan breed.
Rock-solid, Prince has a leg at each corner and a to-die-for real Morgan shoulder, withers, short back and beautiful topline. His sire is by Ellie Mason's beautiful sire Marvelous Ideal, and from her wonderful mare, Royal-Glo. Royal Glo went back to Our Emerald King, Rhythm Lovely Lady, Cavendish, and La Reina, awesome Morgan families!
On Prince's dam's side, Kestral Kate's sire is double Illiniwek. Her dam is the memorable Tetonia Kitty Hawk (Sireson X Sen-Sen).
2009 is the year for Prince's first pure Morgan get, at the humble age of 9. We are excited!

Triple S Trigger
The culmination of our dream, to keep a strong percentage of Red Correll in our Morgans, is going to be realized! We have recently purchased from Bob and Jan Painter, of Triple S Morgans, in Nebraska, Triple S Trigger (Triple S Chinook X Triple S Maybeso). He is a laid-back, easy-going, yet agile and sure-footed son of the beautiful Chinook, who recently went to Canada. He is palomino. Red Correll is in his sireline and he carries a high percentage of him. Trigger's half sister has been with us for seven years now and we have found her to be very sensible, very sure-footed, and totally safe for anyone to be around. She is a big, typey mare. We look forward to using Trigger as a saddle horse on the ranch as well as on the trail with our friends. That Red Correll disposition and temperment is made for today's family Morgan. Our daughter can jump on his sister anytime in pasture with a halter and Red Shadow is steady, sensible, and responsive.
Trigger carries a hefty 18.75% Red Correll, with 12% Silverton Morgan and 5% Winterset, plus crosses to Romanesque. Visitors are welcome to see him when he arrives at Dawn Wind this summer. He will be eventually crossed onto our mares that also carry Winterset lines. Watch for news of him in the future, not in the show ring, but on the ranch and with the family!
